President of Azerbaijan received the Secretary General of the Turkic Council
President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and Chairman of the Turkic Council H.E. Ilham Aliyev has received Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E. Baghdad Amreyev in Baku on 5 November 2021.
Expressing his gratitude for the active Chairmanship of H.E. President Aliyev during the last two years, Secretary General Amreyev reported the President on the recent activities as well as future strategies of the Turkic Council and preparations for the upcoming 8th Summit which will take place in Istanbul on 12 November 2021.
The Secretary General emphasized that the activities of the Turkic Council entered a new phase of cooperation during the Chairmanship of Azerbaijan and the integration process among the Member States has deepened significantly during this period.
The Head of Azerbaijan stressed that the Organization has emerged as a very important platform in the regional and international arena.
President Aliyev expressed his content with the accomplishments of the Turkic Council during the last years in spite of the COVID-19 situation and reiterated his firm support to the Secretariat in carrying out the activities and projects to expand and deepen cooperation among the Member States.
President Aliyev further highlighted that the Turkic Council is the most vigorous international organization advocating for the cause of Azerbaijan and expressed gratitude to the Secretary General and the Member States for their support to Azerbaijan during and after the war. 
The President also expressed his confidence that the upcoming 8th Summit will be an historic occasion for the Organization and will make a great contribution to the solidarity and unity of the Turkic world by increasing its economic and political strength as well as increasing its relations with the third parties.
During the meeting a number of issues on the agenda of the Organization, particularly the strengthening cooperation in the spheres of economy, transport, tourism, youth, sports, culture and science were discussed.
