President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev
On 4 October 2019, the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev received the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev in Tashkent.
H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev underlined the significance of the historic decision of Uzbekistan to join the Turkic Council as full member and warmly welcomed Secretary General Amreyev in his first official visit to Uzbekistan.  He stated that this   decision is in line with the national interests of Uzbekistan and it would have considerable positive effect in tapping the potential of productive and multilateral cooperation among the brotherly Turkic Speaking States in all spheres.
President Mirziyoyev shared his vision regarding the development of Uzbekistan in modern period and underlined that current domestic reforms aimed at building a modern Uzbekistan with strong state institutions, sustainable free market economy and high living standards for the Uzbek people.
Secretary General underscored the historical importance the decision of Uzbekistan to accede to the Turkic Council believing that active participation of Uzbekistan in the activities of the Turkic Council not only widen the horizon of multilateral cooperation within the framework of the Organization, but also would considerably empower the joint potential of Turkic Speaking States. 
B. Amreev underlined that Uzbekistan under the leadership of the President Mirziyoyev gained significant achievements in reforming modern Uzbekistan and accentuated the highly visible results of the ongoing large-scale transformations for liberalization of the economy, improving the business environment and investment climate in the country.

Briefing a detailed account of the preparations for the upcoming 7th Summit in Baku which will be dedicated to the development of small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs), the Secretary General of the Turkic Council emphasized that the comprehensive development of economic cooperation will be the main priority in the Organization’s activities in the coming years. In this regard, he informed the President about the recently created Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), efforts to create an Investment Fund to support small and medium enterprises (SMEs) in member states, as well as on the activities of the Turkic Business Council and Investment Forum, taking place these days in Tashkent.
 B. Amreev briefed President Mirziyoyev on the opening of the European office of the Turkic Council in Budapest, as well as the activities of related organizations of the Council, such as TurkPA, TURKSOY, the Turkic Academy and the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation.
Noting the great potential of the Turkic Council as an effective regional structure, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev and Secretary General B. Amreyev called for the development of multilateral cooperation among member states, especially in such priority areas as trade, investment, innovation, transport, tourism and youth policy.
The parties expressed confidence that the accession of Uzbekistan will significantly enrich the historical relations of friendship and brotherhood between the member countries.
