At the meeting, Project Director Baki made a statement and she reaffirmed the Turkic Council’s willingness to get engaged with the Process on the basis of concrete projects . Referring to the international conference that the Turkic Council co-hosted with UN Alliance of Civilizations in 2016 on the role of youth in preventing violent extremism, she stated that the future cooperation between the two parties could focus on this specific area.
The Turkic Council was invited to the abovementioned meeting as a guest international organization by the co-chairs the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan and the Republic of Turkey. In the Summit Declarations of the Turkic Council, the importance that is attributed to the attainment of sustainable stability and prosperity in Afghanistan with an Afghan-led and Afghan-owned approach has been clearly put forward.
