Project Directors of the Turkic Council attended two conferences related to the role of youth in preventing and countering violent extremism organized in New York.
Project Directors of the Turkic Council Pelin Musabay Baki, Yedil Mirzakhanov and Farid Damirli attended two conferences related to the role of youth in preventing and countering violent extremism on 22 September 2016 in New York.

The first conference was titled "Global Efforts in integrating a youth dimension in preventing and countering violent extremism organized by the European Union, Belgium and Morocco. The second one was named Youth and Governments Unite Against Violent Extremism hosted by Search For Common Ground and State Department of the USA.

During the conferences, project directors informed the participants about the international conference that the Council will co-host with UN Alliance of Civilizations on 20-21 October 2016 with regard to the Role of Youth in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism that is a equally important topic for the UN and the Turkic Council agendas.

On this occasion, they got in contact with youth leaders coming from various countries and representatives of relevant international organizations and agencies working on the topic concerned.
