On the ocassion of the Remembrance Day (12 December) of the Great Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev a Roundtable Meeting on `Heydar Aliyev`s importance for the Turkic World` was organized jointly by the Turkic Council Secretariat and the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul on 12 December 2014 at the premises of the Consulate General of the Republic of Azerbaijan. 

Turkic Council Secretary General Ambassador Ramil Hasanov delivered a speech during the meeting. Mr. Fattah Haydaraov, MP and Member of the Council of Elders from Azerbaijan, Mr. Eldar İbrahimov, MP, Mr. Hasan Zeynalov, Consul General of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Istanbul, Mr. Yerkebulan Sapiyev Consul General of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Istanbul, Mr. Renat Tuleberdiev, Consul General of Kyrgyz Republic in Istanbul, Turkic Council Deputy Secretary Generals, Mr. Adahan Madumarov and Abzal Saparbekuly, Turkic Council Advisor, Ambassador Halil Akıncı, Project Directors of the Turkic Council, Dr. Akkan Suver, President of Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation and Financial Secretary General of Marmara Group Strategic and Social Research Foundation Mr. Şamil Ayrım as well as Mr. Bayram Yusifov Deputy Chairman of the Turkic Council Council of Elders from Azerbaijan also attended to the meeting and delivered their views regarding the importance of Great Leader of Azerbaijan Heydar Aliyev for the Turkic World.
