The Second meeting of Diaspora Contact Group under the aegis of the Turkic Council was held on 3-4 February 2014, in Istanbul at the Turkic Council Secretariat.
In accordance with the Declaration of the Turkic Council First Forum of Turkic diaspora organizations held on 21 June 2013, in Baku and the Declaration of the Third Summit of the Turkic Council held on 16 August 2013, in Gabala, draft “Turkic Council Joint Action Plan for the Turkic Speaking Diasporas” and “Regulation of the Turkic Speaking Diasporas Regional Centers of the Turkic Council” which are planned to be established in Germany, France, Ukraine and USA were discussed and agreed on the texts.
Contact Group was established at the First Meeting of the Ministers and Heads of Institutions in charge of Diaspora Affairs of the Turkic Council held in Baku, in order to prepare and implement documents which envisage cooperation amongst diasporas of the Member States.
First Meeting of the Contact Group was held on 17-18 April 2013, in Istanbul at the Turkic Council Secretariat building, where the “Joint Strategy for Turkic Diaspora” was prepared and submitted to the approval of Ministers and Heads of Institutions in charge of Diaspora Affairs of the Turkic Council. The Strategy was adopted during the Second Meeting of the Ministers held on 14 May 2013, in Ankara.
