Secretariat visited the MEXT Technology Center

The delegation of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) headed by the Deputy Secretary Generals Dr. Omer Kocaman and Dr. Mirvokhid Azimov and composed by project directors of the Secretariat visited MEXT Technology Center located in central Istanbul.

MEXT is the Technology and Innovation Centre of the Turkish Employers’ Association of Metal Industries (MESS) and considered as the Top-10 Global Centers for the Fourth Industrial Revolution. 

Today, MEXT Technology Center is the world's biggest digital transformation and capability building center and Turkey's first digital production factory which is end-to-end integrated from sales forecasting, supply chain to production systems and quality management, first production facility supported by 5G technology. The center has a membership with more than 260 world famous domestic and international Software and technology companies, technology, solution and research partnership with Microsoft, BOSCH, Siemens, Boston Dynamics, MCKinsey, Fraunhofer, CISCO, KOÇ, MIT, Harvard University and etc., and realized about 150 projects during the 20 months (provided services on digital transformation and capacity building).

Executive Director of the MEXT Technology Center, Efe Erdem made a comprehensive presentation about activities of the Center. He said that the Center is focusing on the digital transformation of the industry by providing companies with a comprehensive up-skilling program, technical advisory services, access to a state-of-the-art Digital Factory and an extensive ecosystem of partners including technology companies, universities, and start-ups and acts as a public-private collaboration platform for technology governance.

MEXT has already started its overseas expansion in its digital transformation with Azerbaijan. Within the scope of the cooperation, the Center will start digital maturity assessment studies for Azerbaijan and Central Asian companies, aimed to strengthen commercial relations as well as to make digital transformation sustainable.

After the presentation the delegation of Secretariat of the OTS and MEXT exchanged views on establishing cooperation in the field technology transformation in the fields of energy and agriculture, support of the start-ups and training programs for IT professionals of the Turkic States.
