The Eurasian Librarians' Association in cooperation with the National Library organized a panel on 23 June 2011 in Ankara. The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Halil Akıncı gave a speech at the opening session. Mr. Akıncı stressed in his speech the importance of harmonization of information and library services among Turkic Speaking Countries referring to the Turkic Academy in Astana, which is established within the framework of the Turkic Council, with its Turkic History Museum and the Library targeted to be a center of excellence on an international level.
