Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mikayil Jabbarov on 17 September 2022 in Baku.

Minister Jabbarov expressed his appreciation for the contribution of the OTS in successfully organizing the Turkic Business Forum "Shusha" devoted to the restoration and green development of the Karabakh region that was held on 16 September 2022 in Shusha. 

Secretary General and Minister held detailed discussions on the trade and economic agenda of the OTS, including the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund aimed at supporting small and medium enterprises (SMEs), developing legal basis for promoting e-commerce, signing Free Trade Agreement on Services and Investments.

B.Amreyev and M.Jabbarov exchanged views on the preparations for the upcoming OTS Summit to be held in November 2022 in Samarkand and meetings of Ministers in charge of Economy of the Member and Observer States.

The Parties also touched upon various topics of multilateral cooperation outlining the further steps to strengthen and encourage investment, intra trade, and economic cooperation within the Organization.
