The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with the European Union Special Representative for Central Asia (EUSR CA), H.E.Terhi Hakala on the sidelines of the International Conference entitled “Dialogue is a guarantee of peace” hosted by Turkmenistan on 11 December 2022 in Ashgabat.
Secretary General and EUSR CA underlined the importance of Turkic States for Europe in terms of transport and energy corridors between East and West and of strengthening the regional connectivity and development of the Trans-Caspian International Trade Route (Middle Corridor). In this respect they discussed the cooperation opportunities between the Turkic States and the European Union in the areas of common interest.
Parties also discussed the key developments in the regional and global agendas.
