Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Baghdad Amreyev attended the 5th Ethnosport Culture Festival on 10 June 2022 in Istanbul.
Organized by World Ethnosport Confederation (WEC) since 2016, the Ethnosport Culture Festival is held every year with the participation of over one million visitors from numerous countries to raise awareness on traditional sports and culture with vivid game performances, music shows, traditional cuisine, and handicraft activities.
Secretary General visited the festival site together with the President of the WEC Necmettin Bilal Erdoğan and distinguished First Lady of the Republic of Türkiye, H.E. Emine Erdoğan and exchanged views on festival program, traditional sports, as well as the 4th World Nomad Games.
During his site visit at the festival arena, Secretary General also paid visits to the national tents (Yurtas) of the Member States and the pavilion of the 4th World Nomad Games, which will be held on 29 September – 2 October 2022 in Iznik, Bursa with a large participation across the world.
In two-day festival, WEC, with a mission to revive traditional sports, exhibited to the visitors fierce competitions and magnificent shows on archery, oil wrestling, shalwar wrestling, belt wrestling, aba wrestling, mas wrestling, mangala, mink throwing, equestrian javelin, root ball, equestrian archery and Pato, among others.
