Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev met the Former President of Turkmenistan, the Chairman of the Halk Maslakhaty of the Milli Gengesh of Turkmenistan H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov on 5 September 2022 in Ashgabat.
H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Baghdad Amreyev exchanged views on further actions for active engagement of Turkmenistan in the activities within the Organization as well as ways of realization of decisions taken by the Heads of State during the last Istanbul Summit in 2021. Particularly they elaborated on the main areas of current undertakings of the Secretariat, especially in the fields of economy, transportation, youth policy etc.
Focusing on the development of economic and financial mechanisms of the cooperation among the Turkic States, parties underlined the importance of upcoming launch of the Turkic Investment Found.
H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Baghdad Amreyev also discussed the avenues and joint steps for transforming the Caspian region into one of the largest international transport and transit links, facilitating transport operations and turning Trans-Caspian Corridor into an effective, seamless and sustainable route in the East-West trade.
Esteemed Arkadag and Secretary General touched upon establishing various cooperation forms between Turkmenistan and other Turkic Cooperation Organizations, including TURKPA and Turkic Chamber of Commerce (TCCI).
H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov emphasized that more active role of Turkmenistan within the Organization would certainly fuel an ongoing spirit of cooperation in the Turkic world for common destiny.
H.E. Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov and Baghdad Amreyev discussed the upcoming Summit to be held in Uzbekistan (Samarkand) on 11 November 2022 and noted that the mentioned event, elevating the multifaceted cooperation among fraternal Turkic States, would become an another turning point in strengthening the unity of the Turkic World
