Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States met the Healthcare Minister of Kazakhstan
The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States Baghdad Amreyev held a meeting with the Minister of Healthcare of the Republic of Kazakhstan Azhar Giniyat on 11 May 2022 in Ankara, on the margins of the official visit of His Excellency President of Kazakhstan Kassym-Jomart Tokayev to Türkiye.
Secretary General and the Minister highlighted the joint efforts of OTS Member States for having established constructive cooperation during the pandemic period and outlined the importance of enhancing the healthcare cooperation mechanisms under the Organization of Turkic States to respond to national, regional and global health challenges through various forms of joint actions and programs.
In this vein, Bagdat Amreyev and A. Giniyat underlined the importance of maintaining health cooperation as a priority agenda item among the Member States to achieve universal health coverage, access to quality essential healthcare services as well as to safe, effective, quality, affordable essential medicines and vaccines for all.
The parties also agreed on organizing online and face-to-face training and capacity-building programs to strengthen the health sector’s human resources and institutional capacities of the Turkic States as well as thematic workshops to discuss among the Turkic States and provide recommendations on specific topics and share information on policies, procedures and measures.
