Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Secretary General, Amb. Kubanychbek Omuraliev met with the UN Resident Coordinator in Türkiye, Mr. Alvaro Rodriguez on 11 April 2023 in Ankara.
Secretary General informed UN Resident Coordinator on the history of Turkic cooperation and the role that the OTS has been playing for solidifying cooperation efforts among Turkic States.
Stressing the good relations that the OTS has established over the last 14 years with UN and its specialized agencies, Secretary General expressed the determination of the Organization to establish formal relations with UN bodies in the upcoming period.
UN Resident Coordinator expressed readiness to facilitate enhanced collaboration between the United Nations and the Organization of Turkic States.
Parties exchanged views on the areas of mutual interest and elaborated possible ways for furthering ties between the two Organizations.
