Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) Baghdad Amreyev met with the Chairman of the Council of Elders of the OTS, H.E. Binali Yıldırım.

During the meeting, Secretary General and the Chairman discussed the outcomes of the historic 8th Summit of the OTS held on 12 November 2021 in Istanbul, and the future course of action of the Organization including the projects and activities to be implemented in the upcoming period.

Parties further elaborated on the main tasks of the Council of Elders and the activities planned to be realized by the Council in light of its new Regulation recently signed in Istanbul Summit.

Among other issues, Parties held focused deliberations on the ongoing cooperation initiatives in the fields of economy, transport, as well as information and communications technologies where the Heads of State paid a special emphasis in Istanbul Summit.

They decided to convene the Council of Elders’ next meeting in Istanbul in the upcoming weeks with an agenda comprising various topics of cooperation within the framework of the OTS.

Parties also exchanged views on the regional and global issues that are high on the agenda of the OTS.
