Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States participated in the Meeting of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY
Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States H.E. Baghdad Amreyev took part in the Meeting of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY Member States in Bursa, Türkiye on 31 March 2022.
The Session of the Permanent Council of Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY was moderated by H.E. Mehmet Nuri Ersoy, Minister of Culture and Tourism of the Republic of Türkiye and attended also by H.E. Dusen Kaseinov, Secretary General of TURKSOY, H.E. Anar Karimov, Minister of Culture of Azerbaijan, H.E. Azamat Jamankulov, Minister of Culture, Information, Sports and Youth Policy of Kyrgyzstan, H.E. Atageldi Shamuradov, Minister of Culture of Turkmenistan, Nurkisa Daueshov, Deputy Minister of Culture and Sports of Kazakhstan,  Murodjon Madjidov, Deputy Minister of Culture of Uzbekistan, H.E. Fikri Ataoglu, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Tourism, Culture, Youth and Environment of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Marina Semyonova, Head of the Main Department of Culture and Tourism of Gagauzia (Moldova).
H.E. Dusen Kaseinov has handed over the post of Secretary General of TURKSOY to Deputy Secretary General of OTS H.E. Sultabai Raev who was elected by the Permanent Council during the meeting. 
H.E. Baghdad Amreyev thanked H.E. Dusen Kaseinov for his extraordinary service in making TURKSOY a global cultural brand, congratulated newly elected H.E. Sultanbai Raev and wished him all the best in his new position. 
In his address to the meeting, B. Amreyev underlined the importance of cultural cooperation between the Turkic people and drew attention to the fundamental role of TURKSOY in the integration and intensification of multilateral relations. 
Secretary General of the OTS noted that the Turkic World needs to stand united in confronting the regional and global challenges. He proposed to form a new cultural strategy and vision of the Turkic World focusing more on coordination between cultural and educational institutions of the Member States, the youth policy, modern means of communications and digitalization. 
In the course of the Session, the status of “Cultural capital of the Turkic world-2023” was granted to Azerbaijan’s city of Shusha. Ministers of Culture of TURKSOY also decided to reschedule amendments to the legal documents of the TURKSOY Secretariat for their next meeting. The list of outstanding personalities of the culture and art of Turkic peoples was adopted, and the anniversary and commemorative dates were determined to be celebrated for the coming year.
