Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS), H.E. Baghdad Amreyev received the Ambassador of Ukraine to Ankara, H.E. Vasyl Bodnar at the premises of the Secretariat in Istanbul on 11 June 2022.

Secretary General welcomed the Ambassador of Ukraine and briefed him on the main topics on the Agenda of the OTS.

Ukrainian Ambassador shared with the Secretary General information on the current political situation in and around Ukraine. V. Bodnar also expressed the interest of the Ukrainian Government to establish formal relations with the OTS in the possible areas of cooperation.  

Referring to the good relations between Ukraine and the OTS Member and Observer States, Baghdad Amreyev stated that the Organization is very keen to contribute to the peace and security in the region as one of its top priorities.

He further underlined the importance of that regional cooperation and coordination are very important considering the current global situation and expressed hope that ongoing efforts including those of Türkiye would bring desired results.

The Parties also exchanged views on a number of international and regional issues of mutual interest.
