Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov attended the International Forum entitled “The Great Silk Road- Towards the New Frontiers of Development “ and Opening Ceremony of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port on 2 May 2018 in Turkmenbashi city, upon invitation of Government of Turkmenistan.
The Forum was attended by the Ministers of Transport of Member States and from other countries of the region. Also Secretary Generals and representatives of International organizations, high rank diplomats, heads of transport companies and experts took part in the work of the Forum.
President of Turkmenistan HE Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov honored the Opening of the Forum. President Berdimuhamedov underlined the significance of Turkmenbashi Sea Port for the region and transit freight flow between Asia and Europe. Also the Turkmenbashi Sea Port was awarded with two Guinness records and seven appreciation certificates.
Secretary General Ambassador Hasanov has provided brief information to the President Berdimuhamedov regarding activities of the Turkic Council. Also Secretary General Ambassador Hasanov gave interview to national media outlets.
In addition, Secretary General Ambassador Hasanov had held bilateral meetings with Head of delegations in the framework of the Forum.
Secretary General Hasanov during the visit was accompanied by Project Directors Assan Mazhitov and Ali Civiler, and Araz Salmanov Acting Chief of Protocol.
