Secretary General of the Turkic Council Amb. Ramil Hasanov attended the Opening Ceremony of the Turkmenbashi International Sea Port on 2 May 2018 upon invitation of the Government of Turkmenistan.
President of Turkmenistan HE Gurbanguly Berdimuhamedov honored the opening ceremony of the Port.
The Opening was also attended by the Ministers of Transport of Member States of the Turkic Council and other countries of the region. Moreover, Secretary Generals and representatives of International organizations, high ranking diplomats, heads of transport companies and experts took part in the opening ceremony.
A cultural show demonstrating the historical significance of the great silk road was presented at the ceremony. Participants also had the opportunity to visit piers, docs, shipyards and other similar infrastructure of the newly-built port.
Turkmen people showed a great deal of attention to the opening ceremony with a large number of participation.
During the visit, Secretary General Hasanov was accompanied by the Project Directors Ali Civiler and Assan Mazhitov, as well as Araz Salmanov, Acting Chief of Protocol.
