The Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov gave a reception on 19 October 2016 at the Çırağan Palace on the occasion of the 3rd October, ‘Cooperation Day of the Turkic Speaking Countries’ as well as the International Conference entitled “the Role of Youth in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism: Holistic Approaches from Education to De-Radicalization” to be co-hosted by the Turkic Council and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations (UNAOC) on 20-21 October 2016 in Istanbul. Secretary General Hasanov welcomed the guests together with his Deputies Abzal Saparbekuly and Dr. Ömer Kocaman.
Following the welcoming, the High Representative of the UN Alliance of Civilizations H.E. Nassir AbdulazizAl-Nasser took the floor and addressed guests, where he expressed his gratitute for the developing relations and cooperation with the Turkic Council which will be launched with tommorow’s Conference. High Representative Nassir AbdulazizAl-Nasser congratulated this significant historical day of the Turkic Council and wished continuation of its successful activities.
Following the speech of High Representative Nassir AbdulazizAl-Nasser, the Secretary General Hasanov took the floor and in his welcoming address he conveyed his thanks to the guests for their participation to the reception on the occasion of the “October 3rd – The Turkic Speaking States Day” and International Conference co-hosted by the Turkic Council and UN Alliance of Civilizations on “The Role of Youth in Preventing and Countering Violent Extremism”. Secretary General Hasanov referred to the international conference which will last two days and expressed that it will contribute to the existing knowledge and studies on “Youth and De-radicalization”. He also underlined the Youth and Sport theme which is the main theme of the upcoming 6th Summit of Heads of States of the Turkic Council and gave brief information to the audience regarding the activities and projects carried out by the Turkic Council within this concept. Finally Secretary General Hasanov expressed his gratitude for the fruitful cooperation that the Turkic Council and the UNAOC will start with tomorrow’s conference where they will sign an MoU to formalize this relation.
The reception continued with the performance of “TÜRKSOY National Orchestra of Folk Instruments” composed of the musicians from the Turkic Speaking States.
