Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov gave a reception on 5 October 2017 at the Çırağan Palace on the occasion of the 3rd October, ‘Turkic Speaking Countries Cooperation Day’. Secretary General Hasanov welcomed the guests together with his Deputy Dr. Ömer Kocaman.

Following welcoming, Secretary General Hasanov addressed the guests where he stressed the importance of this day which marks the 8th anniversary of the signing of the Nakhchivan Agreement establishing the Turkic Council as in international organization. Taking this opportunity Secretary General Hasanov conveyed his thanks to the founding member states of the Turkic Council namely Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Kyrgyzstan and Turkey for their continuous support as well as to the guests for participating to celebrate this day. Secretary General Hasanov also presented information to the guests about the activities and projects undertaken by the Turkic Council during the course of the past year.

Following the speech of Secretary General Hasanov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Yildiz also delivered a speech and congratulated October 3rd, which is of historical significance for the Turkic world. Deputy Minister Yıldız also expressed his satisfaction with the work of the Turkic Council and noted the important role that the Council plays in the establishment of peace and prosperity in the region and beyond.

Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey Ahmet Yıldız, Deputy Governor of Istanbul İsmail Gültekin, Deputy Chairman of MHP and MHP Antalya MP Mehmet Günal, Deputy Secretary General of TURKSOY Fırat Purtaş, Deputy Secretary General of TURKPA Fuad Alakparov as well as Ambassadors of member states of the Turkic Council in Ankara, representatives of the Consulates General in Istanbul, representatives of international organizations, businessmen, representatives of non-governmental organizations and representatives of the press attended the reception.

Throughout the reception, Secretary General Hasanov gave interviews to several media and press representatives from Turkey, Azerbaijan and Kazakhstan.

The Cooperation Day of Turkic Speaking Countries was celebrated in a pleasant environment accompanied by classical music.
