On 23 November 2015 within the framework of the official visit of the Secretary General of the Turkic Council to Jakarta, Ambassador Ramil Hasanov met with Ambassador of Kazakhstan to the Republic of Indonesia Askhat Orazbay.
During the meeting Secretary General Hasanov informed Ambassador about activities of the Turkic Council as well as its current projects.
Ambassador Orazbay welcomed the initiative to establish relations with ASEAN and stressed on the importance of Indonesia as a gateway to Asia. He also suggested to held a presentation on Turkic Council Modern Silkroad Tour Package in Jakarta in order to increase the tourism potential of the Member States of Turkic Council. Taking into consideration that Indonesia is among G20 countries and headquarters of ASEAN is based in Jakarta it was considered expedient for the Indonesia to be a partner in future activities of the Turkic Council.
