On 23 May 2016, invited by the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, Mr. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov participated as special guest in the opening ceremony of the World Humanitarian Summit which is organized for the first time in Istanbul.
The opening addresses of the Summit were made by the President of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Recep Tayyip Erdoğan and the Secretary General of the United Nations Mr. Ban Ki-moon. At the opening session calls have been made for the search of new methods to combat the problems faced by humanity. The two-day Summit will be attended by 6000 delegates and more than 100 world leaders.
Within the context of the opening session, Secretary General Hasanov had various bilateral contacts with the high level participants of the Summit.
Project Director Pelin Musabay Baki and Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompany to the Secretary General at the opening session of the Summit.
