Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov participated in the session named “Turkic Heritage at the Crossroads of Cultures and Civilizations” that was hosted by the Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation on 6 May 2017 in Baku within the framework of 4th World Forum on Intercultural Dialogue.
President of Turkic Culture and Heritage Foundation Ambassador Gunay Afandiyeva addressed the audience at the beginning of the meeting. She explained in detail the mission and vision of the Foundation.
In his speech, Ambassador Ramil Hasanov expressed the comprehensive, inclusive and result-oriented approach of the Turkic Council and its activities carried out in a wide range of areas from economy, tourism, education to media, youth and sports.
He touched upon the projects of the Turkic Council, the member states of which are located along the traditional Silk Road. He also mentioned the Modern Silk Road Joint Tour Package project of the Turkic Council that has been already implemented to promote Silk Road Tourism.
He also underlined the successful realization of the Second Nomad Games hosted by Kyrgyzstan in September 2017.
In his statement, Ambassador Hasanov congratulated the Azerbaijani authorities for hosting several global high level forums and events.
On the other hand, he also mentioned Kazakhstan’s achievement to become a non-permanent member of the UN Security Council and to host Astana Expo in 2017.
Lastly, he took up the cooperation of the Turkic Council with UNAOC, UNDP and UN Office of South South Cooperation while he numerated the activities that the Council materializes with these organisations.
Following Ambassador Hasanov, Secretary General of TurkPA Zhandos Asanov, Secretary General of TURKSOY Prof. Dusen Kaseinov, Director General of IRCICA Prof. Halit Eren, Deputy Director of the Institute of Oriental Studies Prof. Shahin Mustafayev and the Professors Kamila Aliyeva and Nizami Mammadov addressed the audience.
Project Director Pelin Musabay Baki, Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul and Deputy Director of Finance and Administration Araz Salmanov accompanied Secretary General Hasanov at the meeting.
