Within the context of his official contacts in Ankara, the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov visited HE Ömer Çelik, Minister for EU Affairs of the Republic of Turkey and Chief Negotiator on 19 August 2016 in his office.

Conveying his personal solidarity messages, Secretary General Hasanov stated that the Secretariat of the Turkic Council and the Turkic Council member countries have stood in solidarity and unity with the Republic of Turkey after the failed coup attempt of July 15, 2016. Secretary General Hasanov also provided Minister Çelik with information about the current and planned activities of the Turkic Council and expressed his ideas regarding the possible cooperation between the Ministry for EU Affairs and the Turkic Council.

Minister Çelik expressed his thanks to Secretary General Hasanov for his visit and for conveying the solidarity messages. He also indicated that the Republic of Turkey, which has become even more powerful by the unity and solidarity unfolded after recent developments, will continue its support to the Turkic Council.
