Secretary General Hasanov was received by President Erdoğan after the official dinner given on 5 August 2016 in honor of President of the Republic of Kazakhstan Nursultan Nazarbayev.
During the meeting, Secretary General Hasanov expressed that the Turkic Council always stood shoulder by shoulder with the Republic of Turkey following the failed coup, taken place on 15 July 2016, adding that the Secretariat continues to be with Turkey as it was previously and in the future as well. In addition to this, Secretary General Hasanov stated that he held talks with the senior officials of Member States of the Turkic Council following the nefarious coup attempt, as a result of which he received very strong messages of solidarity.
Ambassador Hasanov also gave brief information to President Erdoğan about the ongoing projects and projected activities of the Turkic Council.
President Erdoğan thanked Secretary General Hasanov and the Turkic Council while emphasizing the importance of the support coming from the brotherly countries in this difficult period. He also added that the full support provided so far to the Turkic Council will continue hereafter too.
