Secretary General of the Turkic Council Ambassador Ramil Hasanov was received by H.E. Binali Yıldırım, Prime Minister of the Republic of Turkey in his office at Vahdettin Mansion in Istanbul on 27 August 2016.
Secretary General Hasanov expressed that, as he stated in all his official meetings, the Turkic Council have been against the failed coup attempt of 15 July 2016 perpetrated in the Republic of Turkey and conveyed his sorrow to Prime Minister Yıldırım for the painful events that took place and for the terrorist attacks still continuing across the country.
During the meeting Secretary General Hasanov presented comprehensive information to Prime Minister Yıldırım, particularly about preparations of the Sixth Summit of the Heads of States of the Turkic Council to be hosted by the Kyrgyz Republic in November 2016, certain matters of common interests to the member states, as well as the Second World Nomad Games to be held again in the Kyrgyz Republic in early September 2016 with the participation of representatives from 40 countries. Secretary General Hasanov also provided information about the international conference entitled “The Role of Youth in Countering Violent Extremism” to be organized jointly by the Turkic Council and the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations between 20-21 October 2016 in Istanbul with the participation of high level international guests and invited Prime Minister Yıldırım to this Conference as the ‘Guest of Honor’.
Secretary General Hasanov continued to give information regarding the agenda of the Informal Meeting of the Council of Ministers of the Turkic Council to be organized in the margins of the UN General Assembly in September 2016 and presented his gratitude for the valuable support of the Republic of Turkey provided until now to the Turkic Council.
Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım expressed his satisfaction for the visit and information provided by the Secretary General Hasanov and thanked for the support given as well as the solidarity shown by the Turkic Council immediately after the failed coup attempt on 15 July 2016. Furthermore, Prime Minister Yıldırım indicated that the support given by the Republic of Turkey to the Turkic Council since its establishment will increasingly continue, congratulated Secretary General Hasanov for his succesful work and underlined that the Turkic Council should do much more than they have done so far.
Turkic Council Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Chief of Protocol Emre Yurdakul accompanied to Secretary General Hasanov during the meeting.
