Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E. Baghdad Amreyev and the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Chingiz Aidarbekov met in Istanbul on 16 March 2020.
Minister Aidarbekov expressed his satisfaction with the diligent and meticulous work of the Turkic Council and restated the full support of the Kyrgyz Republic to the Secretariat in all its efforts.
Secretary General Amreyev conveyed his appreciation for the strong support and valuable contributions that the Kyrgyz Republic extended in the activities of the Turkic Council.
During the meeting, the Foreign Minister and the Secretary General exchanged views on the pressing topics on the agenda of the Organization and ongoing multilateral cooperation among the Member States.
Parties also reviewed the current efforts for the establishment of the Joint Investment Fund of the Turkic Council and discussed the further steps for the materialization of the Fund.
Parties discussed the upcoming World Nomad Games (WNG) to be organized in Turkey in the fall of 2020 and expressed their confidence in the successful organization of WNG as in the past years. The Minister conveyed the wish of the Kyrgyz side to host the next WNG in 2022 in Kyrgyzstan that will coincide with the celebration of 30th anniversary of Independence of the Kyrgyz Republic.
Secretary General underlined the significant role that Kyrgyzstan has played in the institutionalization of the WNG. While reaffirming the valuable contribution of the assumption of the host country title by different countries of the Turkic World, Secretary General Amreyev expressed his support for the proposal of Kyrgyz side.
Parties also discussed the activities and events of the Turkic Council to be organized by the Kyrgyz side throughout this year.
