Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev attended the opening session of the international conference entitled `TURKPA in the First Ten Years and the Future of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation: New Approaches to Cooperation`.
On the occasion of the 10th anniversary of TURKPA, an international conference entitled “TURKPA in the First Ten Years and the Future of Inter-Parliamentary Cooperation: New Approaches to Cooperation” held one day prior to the 8th Plenary Session on 20 November 2018, was attended by the Speakers of the Parliaments of the Member States, the members of guest Parliaments, representatives of international organizations and diplomatic corps, as well as various scientists and academicians.

Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev attended the opening session of the conference.

Following the screening of the video dedicated to the ten years’ activities of TURKPA, Speakers of the Parliaments of the Member States as well as representatives of guest parliaments addressed the opening session, which was followed by an award ceremony where Mr. Binali Yıldırım presented TURKPA medal of honor to Mr. Dastanbek Jumabekov for his contributions to the inter-parliamentary relations among the Turkic speaking states during his chairmanship.

The conference continued with three sessions. Deputy Secretary General Dr. Omer Kocaman took part as the panelist in the session moderated by Prof. Dr. Fikret Turkmen, Faculty Member at Ege University together with Asaf Hajiyev, Secretary General of PABSEC and Prof. Dr. Musa YILDIZ, President of the Board of Trustees of Ahmet Yesevi University. Deputy Secretary General informed the audience on the history and structure of the Turkic Council, the projects undertaken in various fields and shared his vision for the future of the Turkic cooperation.
