Turkic Business Council meeting chaired by the Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev convened Chairmen and Senior Officials of the National Chambers of Commerce and Industry (CCI) of the Turkic Council Member States as well as Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan.

President of the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of the Republic of Turkey (TOBB), Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu; President of the Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Kyrgyz Republic, Marat Sharshekeev; Deputy Secretary General of the National Confederation of Entrepreneurs Organizations of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Fuad Humbatov; Deputy Chairman of the National Chamber of Entrepreneurs of the Republic of Kazakhstan "Atameken", Olzhas Ordabayev as well as Adviser to the President of the CCI of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Fozil Otajonov and Deputy Chairman of the CCI of the Republic of Turkmenistan, Dovletgeldi Rejepow participated in the meeting.

Reminding the proposal made by the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Shavkat Mirziyoyev at the 6th Turkic Council Summit held on 3 September 2018 in Cholpon-Ata to organizing business events of the Turkic Council in Uzbekistan, Secretary General expressed appreciation in his opening address to the Uzbek CCI for their hospitality. Touching upon the tasks entrusted by the Heads of States in the last Summit in Kyrgyzstan, he emphasized the untapped trade potential among the Turkic Speaking States and underlined in this regard the vital role of private sector for further enhancement of trade volume in the region.

Stressing the significance of cooperation with other partners interested in investing in the region, the Parties exchanged views on the upcoming Turkic Business Forum and Turkic Business Council meeting in the course of 2019 and discussed the further steps to be taken for the institutionalization of the existing cooperation mechanisms in the field of mutual investment and trade.

Deputy Secretary General, Dr. Ömer Kocaman and Project Director Özge Pan accompanied the Secretary General at the informal meeting of the Turkic Business Council.
