Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev met with the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey H.E. Sedat Önal.
A meeting between Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev and Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Sedat Onal was held on 3 December 2018 in Ankara.

Deputy Minister Onal welcomed the Secretary General. Mentioning the importance and the constructive role of Turkic Council Member States in the region, he emphasized that the appointment of someone who has long-time served in the region and is familiar in that regard with the current challenges is very fortunate for the Organization. Secretary General also expressed his congratulations upon the Deputy Minister`s assumption of new responsibilities and presented him his best wishes for greater convergence and coherence among the brotherly Turkic States.

Having addressed in length the various aspects of the existing cooperation mechanisms, the Parties exchanged views on the upcoming initiatives of the Secretariat especially in the field of economy, tourism as well as on relations of the Turkic Council with leading international organizations.

The Parties also highlighted the importance of solidifying the institutional basis of the cooperation among the Turkic Speaking States.

Secretary General and Deputy Minister also exchanged views on the Agenda of the upcoming Summit of the Heads of States to be held in Azerbaijan where the Turkic Council will celebrate the 10th anniversary of the signing of Nakhchivan Agreement.

Secretary General was accompanied by the Deputy Secretary General Omer Kocaman and Project Director Ozge Pan.
