Meeting was attended by H.E. Hadi Soleimanpour, Secretary General of ECO,H.E. Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Javad Zarif, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Iran, H.E. Shakrat Nuryshev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Nuran Niyazaliev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Ilhom Nematov, First Deputy Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Mirwais Nab, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Afghanistan, H.E. Vepa Haciyev, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Turkmenistan, H.E. Andaleeb Abbas, Parliamentary Secretary For Foreign Affairs of the Islamic Republic of Pakistan and H.E. Kudret Özersay, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus.
During the Meeting, H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey took over the Chairmanship of the ECO Council of Ministers from H.E. Khusrav Noziri, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic Tajikistan.
At the meeting, Secretary General delivered a statement regarding the ongoing cooperation between the Turkic Council and ECO.Secretary General underlined the areas of mutual interest and prospective opportunities between the two organizations; especially in the field of economy, customs, transport and tourism.
On the margins of the Meeting, Secretary General held bilateral meetings with H.E. Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. ShakratNuryshev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Nuran Niyazaliev, First Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyz Republic, H.E. Ilhom Nematov, First Deputy Minister of the Republic of Uzbekistan and other high level officials who attended the Meeting.
Turkic Council is observer organization to ECO since 2012. Turkic Council and ECO signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) in 2014 and based on the said MoU; a Work Program for the period 2019-2020 was signed in order to conduct joint projects between two organizations during the visit of the Secretary General to ECO Secretariat in Tehran, last April.
Deputy Secretary General Gismat Gozalov and Project Director Ersin Aydoğan accompanied the Secretary General during the visit.
