During the meeting, a wide range of topics was addressed including the Palestinian issue, conflicts in Yemen, Syria and Libya, combating terrorism, Islamophobia, defamation of religions, the status of Muslim groups and communities in non-OIC countries, the OIC-2025 program of action.
Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Beibut Atamkulov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Elmar Mammadyarov, Minister of Foreign Affairs of Kyrgyz Republic Chingiz Aidarbekov, Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Turkey, H.E. Sedat Onal respectively addressed the participants, emphasized regional issues on the OIC agenda and held several bilateral meetings with their counterparts.
In Abu Dhabi, Secretary General also came together with the Foreign Ministers of Azerbaijan E. Mamadyarov, Kazakhstan B. Atamkulov and Kyrgyzstan C. Aydarbekov and discussed the current activities of the Turkic Council as well as the preparations for the upcoming Turkic Council Summit to be held in Azerbaijan this year.
Secretary General of the Turkic Council has also held talks with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Uzbekistan, H.E. Abdulaziz Kamilov and exchanged views on the involvement of Uzbekistan in the substantial undertakings of the Secretariat especially in the field of economy and trade.
Secretary General also had talks with the Deputy Foreign Minister for International Organizations Affairs of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, H.E. Dr. Yousef bin Trad bin Yousef Al-Sadoun and the Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Egypt, H.E. Ehab Mohamed Mostafa Fawzy on the relationship of the Turkic Council with the Organization of Islamic Cooperation as well as OIC member countries.
Furthermore, Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev congratulated H.E. Amb. Musa Kulaklıkaya (Turkey) and H.E. Amb. Askar Mussinov (Kazakhstan) for their assumption of duties as the newly-elected OIC Assistant Secretary General for Financial and Administrative Affairs and the Assistant Secretary General for Science and Technology, and wished them success in their new positions.
Secretary General was accompanied in his trip to Abu Dhabi by Project Directors Ozge Pan, Zhyldyz Uzakova and Zhanar Nugumanova.
