Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev received Abzal Saparbekuly, Ambassador of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ankara, who paid a courtesy visit to him at the Turkic Council premises in Istanbul on 3 October 2018.

Ambassador Saparbekuly congratulated the Secretary General Amreyev on his appointment as the Secretary General of the Turkic Council and on the 9th anniversary of the establishment of the Turkic Council.

Ambassador Saparbekuly expressed his belief that the activities in the upcoming period will give a new impetus to the work of the organization and render the multilateral cooperation among the Turkic Speaking States more systematic. Noting that the Turkic Council was founded with the initiative of the President of Kazakhstan H.E. Nursultan Nazarbayev, he said that Kazakhstan has always attached great importance to the activities of the Turkic Council and supported it.

Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev highlighted the importance of ensuring fruitful coordination and further development of Turkic integration as well as increasing efficiency in the activities of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations to strengthen cooperation among the member states, in accordance with the decisions of the Heads of State taken during the last Summit of Turkic Council in Cholpon-Ata, Kyrgyzstan. In this context, Secretary General Amreyev emphasized the importance of structural improvement of the existing Turkic cooperation institutions. The Parties exchanged views on the subject-matter.
