Secretary General B.Amreyev briefed President Aliyev on the recent activities of Turkic Council as well as preparations for the upcoming 7th Summit of the Turkic Council, to be held in Azerbaijan on 3 October 2019, which coincides with the 10th anniversary of Nakhchivan Agreement and events to be organized in this context.
Secretary General expressed his gratitude both for the contribution and active participation of Azerbaijan in the cooperation process among Turkic Council Member States and for the continuous support of His Excellency to the activities of the Council.
The President and the Secretary General discussed the implementation of the Decisions of the Heads of States on enhancing economic dimensions of the Turkic Cooperation. In this context, they reviewed the development on the establishment of the Investment Fund of Turkic Council as well as finalizing the creation of the Joint Chamber of Commerce and Industry of the Turkic Speaking Countries.
President Aliyev and the Secretary General exchanged views regarding the decision taken by Heads of States of the Turkic Council during their last Summit in Cholpon–Ata on the structural improvement of the Turkic integration bodies and the development of a plan for their restructuring and optimization of their activities.
President Aliyev reiterated his full support to the Secretariat of Turkic Council in its efforts for enhancing relations including with non-Member countries and strengthening the cooperation with international organizations, as well as expanding the visibility of the Council in the region and beyond.
President Aliyev wished the Secretary General success in his efforts in increasing the cooperation among Turkic Councils Members and expressed his hope that through the joint efforts of Azerbaijan and Turkic Council Secretariat, the upcoming Turkic Council Summit to be held in Azerbaijan will be a successful historic event for the benefit of Turkic nations.
Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev was accompanied by Project Director Ceyhun Shahverdiyev during the meeting.
