Secretary General of the Turkic Council met with Foreign Minister of the Kyrgyz Republic

Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E. Baghdad Amreyev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Mr. Ruslan Kazakbaev on 25 October 2020 in Bishkek. 

 

Foreign Minister briefed the Secretary General on the current internal political development in Kyrgyzstan. He stated that the critical situation in the country has been overcome and remains stable with a legitimate parliament and a legitimate government were established in accordance with the Constitution.

R.Kazakbayev stressed that the Kyrgyz people and political parties showed a great degree of responsibility for the safety, stability and constitutional order of the country and their commitments for the democratic path of the development.

 

Secretary General underlined the importance of stability and development in Kyrgyzstan, the founding member of the Turkic Council and essential part of Turkic World, which has been actively participating in all cooperation initiatives of the organization.

 

He expressed his belief that brotherly Kyrgyz people and new political leaders will show a strong will to manage the political situation in the country within the constitutional order preserving stability and ensuring national conciliation.

 

Parties also discussed upcoming presidential and parliamentary elections in Kyrgyzstan and expressed their hope that this campaign will result a final settlement of this political challenge in the country and a turning point to the transition to stability, sustainable development and prosperity for the brotherly Kyrgyz people.

Secretary General and Foreign Minister discussed current situation in Nagorno Karabakh region of Azerbaijan and underlined the need for the earlier settlement of this conflict on the basis of generally accepted principles and norms of international law, and the related resolutions of UN Security Council and other international organizations.    

 

Parties exchanged views on the agenda of cooperation in a wide range of areas within the framework of Turkic Council.

Foreign Minister Kazakbaev expressed his satisfaction with growing activities of the Turkic Council and raised the high interest of Kyrgyzstan to close, comprehensive and fruitful cooperation within Turkic Council.

Secretary General and Foreign Minister agreed on further development and deepening of collaboration, as well as joint efforts and mutual support across the Members countries.
