Secretary General of the Turkic Council met with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan            
Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev had, in the framework of his visit to Baku a meeting with the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan, H.E. Mikayil Jabbarov on 9 September 2020. 
Secretary General briefed the Minister on the recent accomplishments achieved in the economic field, as well as the ongoing initiatives of the Organization’s economic agenda, emphasizing particularly determining a collective strategy for trade facilitation, establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund, and creation of Turkic Trade Houses. 
Minister Mikayil Jabbarov underlined that the activities of the Turkic Council are given utmost priority by Azerbaijan and highly appreciate the efforts of the Secretariat in this regard. He also underlined the importance of substantiating the economic ties among the Member States.  Minister also pointed out that the increasing interest of third parties towards the Organization constitutes a strong testament of the effective nature of its activities stemming from common grounds. He expressed the readiness of Azerbaijan, as the current chairman of the Turkic Council; to achieve the common goals set by the Member States and therefore to give momentum to the remaining issues that are still in working procedure. 
Secretary General stated that the Turkic Council has entered into a new phase in the aftermath of the successful Baku Summit, progressing towards closer cooperation and deeper integration among its members, in all spheres of cooperation, trade and economy being in the first place. He added that the Secretariat is preparing with this understanding the future strategy of the Organization for 2040, and working for determining new modalities of cooperation with third countries in different sectors, including economic field.  
Parties also reviewed in detail further steps for enhancing multilateral economic cooperation among the Member States.
