Secretary General of the Turkic Council met with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey
Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev had a meeting with the Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey, H.E. Mustafa Sentop in Ankara on 12 December 2019.
Secretary General briefed the Speaker on the current activities of the Organization. He emphasized the unique structure of the Turkic Council among other similar regional and international organizations as a comprehensive instrument of the Member States to further and deepen cooperation in a wide range of areas including foreign policy, economy, transport, education, youth and sports and many more.  
Secretary General stressed that the Organization, after having completed 10 years of an establishment period, now enters into a new phase, where it aims for closer cooperation and deeper integration among its members. In this context, Secretary General B. Amreyev shared his take on the current state of affairs in international politics and underlined that the Member States and the Turkic Council Secretariat need a common approach for the future in light of changing international parameters. In this regard,he informed the Speaker on the main priorities of the Turkic Council Vision 2025 that the Secretariat is currently preparing.
Speaker of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey welcomed the Secretary General and expressed his satisfaction with the efforts of the Secretariat for strengthening unity of the Turkic World, boosting multilateral cooperation between Member States and having a clear vision of the Turkic World for the future. Noting the importance given by Turkey for deepening cooperation among Turkic States, the Speaker underlined that given the global economic challenges; a significant attention should be paid also to  an advanced economic and cultural cooperation. 
Expressing his appreciation for the recent membership of Uzbekistan to the Turkic Council, he noted that this fact give additional strength to enhancing the ties between brotherly nations. 
The Secretary General noted that the 7th Turkic Council Summit held in Baku was indeed a turning point in terms of launching the enlargement process of the Turkic Council and the opening of the Representation Office of the in Europe. Secretary General added that in a very short span of time after Baku Summit, 8 countries already expressed their wish to become observer to the Turkic Council.
Moreover, Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev informed the Speaker on the progress made particularly in the field of economy; the establishment of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI), large-scale business forums organized in Tashkent and Baku that were participated by more than 1000 businessmen, as well as the efforts for founding the Turkic Investment Fund, whose main objective will be enhancing the capacities of Small and Medium sized Enterprises (SMEs). Secretary General added that trade facilitation strategy might be defined in order to enhance economic engagement among the Member States. .
Stressing the need for a better coordination and inter-institutional relations among the Turkic Cooperation Organizations, Secretary General said that their activities should be undertaken in the framework of a common agenda. The Speaker also stressed the importance of coordination among Turkic Cooperation Organizations in order to ensure the effectiveness of their activities.
Parties exchanged views on the upcoming 9th General Assembly of TURKPA to take place in Baku and wished for the success of this important meeting.
