Secretary General of the Turkic Council met with the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic
On March 15, 2021 Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev met with the Vice Prime Minister and Minister of Economy and Finance of the Kyrgyz Republic H.E. Ulukbek Karmyshakov in Bishkek. 
Vice Prime Minister Ulukbek Karmyshakov expressed gratitude to the Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev for the opportunity to meet and for constructive exchange of views on topical issues of cooperation between Kyrgyzstan and the Secretariat of the Turkic Council. He also assured that Kyrgyzstan would maintain its active support for the efforts of the Secretariat to develop multilateral cooperation within the Organization.
Secretary General briefed the Minister on the achievements of the Turkic Council in the economic field, as well as the ongoing initiatives of the Organization’s economic agenda, emphasizing particularly determining a collective strategy for trade facilitation, establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund, and opening of Turkic Trade Houses. 
Underlining the significance of this issue for intra-regional trade, Vice Prime Minister appreciated the meticulous work carried out by the Secretariat and the relevant authorities of the Member States. Vice Prime Minister Karmyshakov mentioned that a special emphasis should be placed upon the institutional structure of trade, economic, and investment cooperation and the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund would be an important asset for the Member States in the realization of various investment projects.
Secretary General Baghdad Amreyev pointed out that the Turkic Council attaches great importance to bilateral and multilateral cooperation in trade and tries to take advantage of the potential of existing trade agreements for the expansion of intra-trade and to conclude preferential and free trade agreements in the areas of common concern particularly in services and investments without prejudice to the existing undertakings of the Member States in other international and regional organizations. 
Expressing the need to adopt a strategic approach that would further facilitate trade in the region, B. Amreyev expressed that the Turkic Council should outline clear goals and objectives in the period ahead that would eliminate existing barriers to enhanced trade; establish necessary structures for its effective implementation; and eventually improve the economic performance of the member countries and increase intra-trade ratio. He added that these goals are the integral part of the economic objectives laid down within the “Turkic World Vision – 2040”. 

Vice Prime Minister appreciated the efforts of the Organization in this regard and stressed that Kyrgyzstan attaches utmost importance to developing and deepening cooperation in trade and investment, as well as development of relations among the businessmen of the brotherly countries.
Secretary General stressed that in line with the action plan prepared in the aftermath of the global outbreak of COVID-19, the Organization succeeded to consolidate a list of essential goods and determine facilitative measures to be applied to this consolidated list such as green lane/green corridor practice. He also informed the Vice- Prime Minister that the Parties are expected to conclude a multilateral framework agreement thereon in the coming period, which would allow them to apply a simplified customs corridor including electronic pre-notification system, online declaration and data exchange among them within the bounds of possibility of their national legislations. 
The Parties exchanged views on further steps for enhancing multilateral economic cooperation among the Member States.
