Secretary General of the Turkic Council received the Ambassador of Russia to Ankara
Secretary General of the Turkic Council, H.E. Baghdad Amreyev received the Ambassador of the Russian Federation to Ankara, H.E. Aleksey Yerhov at the premises of the Turkic Council Secretariat in Istanbul on 17 August 2021.
Referring to the friendly relations between Russia and the Turkic States, the Ambassador briefed the Secretary General on the current state of Russia’s bilateral relations with the Member States of the Turkic Council.
Secretary General shared with the Ambassador the ongoing cooperation among the Member and Observer States within the framework of the Turkic Council in different fields particularly in economy, trade and transport as well as the future perspectives of the Organization.
B.Amreyev and A.Yerhov exchanged views on possible ways of partnership between the Turkic Council and Russia. Underlining the existing high level of cooperation between Russia and the Turkic Council Member States, the Secretary General and the Ambassador noted the importance of developing the potential of collaboration between the Turkic Council and Russia in various areas for the benefit of the peoples of the Turkic States and Russian Federation.
Parties also exchanged views on regional and international affairs of mutual interest.
Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Gısmat Gozalov and the Consul General of the Russian Federation in Istanbul Andrey Buravov were also present at the meeting.
