Secretary General of Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Kazakhstan, H.E. Beibut Atamkulov.
Secretary General of the Turkic Council Baghdad Amreyev has paid a visit to Kazakhstan on 5 July 2019. During the visit, Secretary General met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs, H.E. Beibut Atamkulov.  The Parties exchanged views on the activities of the Turkic Council and the current cooperation between the Turkic Council and Kazakhstan.

At the meeting, special attention was paid to the preparations of the upcoming 7th Summit of the Turkic Council scheduled on 15 October 2019 in Baku as well as to the reform process of the Turkic Cooperation Organizations. 

B. Amreyev highlighted that the upcoming year will be the year of economy in the Turkic Council, which will expectantly yield positive outcomes and draw attention of non-member Turkic Speaking States to actively participate in the efforts of the Organization. 

He also added that the establishment of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI)on 17 May 2019 is one of the noteworthy achievements further strengthening business communities in the region and increasing intra-trade. 

Secretary General B. Amreyev said that the Turkic Council intensifies its efforts for the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund in line with the vision provided by the Member States, which will become an important financial instrument to support national Small and Medium sized Enterprises. 

Foreign Minister B. Atamkulov expressed his satisfaction with the positive results of the 9th meeting of Ministers in charge of economy of the Turkic Council that took place on 3 July 2019 in Nur-Sultan, particularly the significant progress made regarding the process of the establishment of the Turkic Investment Fund. He stated his belief that these outcomes will contribute to the further development of trade and economic cooperation in the Turkic world. 


The Foreign Minister emphasized the need to strengthen the capacity of the Turkic Chamber of Commerce and Industry (TCCI) recently established as part of the Turkic Council and noted in this context the willingness of Kazakhstan to actively participate in the work of the upcoming Turkic Business Forums to be organized respectively on August 2019 in Ashgabat, on September 2019 in Tashkent and on October in Baku.

Secretary General B. Amreyev informed the Foreign Minister about the outcomes of his first visits to Turkmenistan and Uzbekistan. Foreign Minister B. Atamkulov expressed that Kazakhstan will continue supporting the Secretary General on his efforts to strengthen cooperation among the Member States and the undertakings of the Turkic Council, as well as increasing collaboration with Uzbekistan and Turkmenistan. 

The Parties agreed on continuation of consultations regarding the preparations for the upcoming Summit of the Turkic Council in Baku on October 2019.
