First Deputy Chairman of State Customs Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan Mr. Safar Mehdiyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Kazakhstan in Ankara Mr. Abzal Saparbekuly, Chairman of the State Customs Service under the Government of the Kyrgyz Republic Mr. Azamat Sulaymanov and Undersecretary of the Ministry of Customs and Trade of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Cenap Aşçı represented their delegations at the meeting.

The meeting was moderated by Undersecretary of the Ministry of Customs and Trade of the Republic of Turkey Mr. Cenap Aşçı and Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman.

The meeting started with moderators` opening remarks and statements of the heads of delegations that reviewed the work done in the field of customs.

In the course of the meeting, the parties welcomed the initialization of the Turkic Council Modern Silk Road Trade Caravan Demonstration Tour aimed at promoting Central Transport Corridor passing through the territories of the member states.

While they agreed to review the findings and recommendations on the side visits under the Caravanserai Project, it was deemed necessary to intensify efforts for the inclusion of China to the said initiative.

The parties advanced on the deliberations of Quadrilateral Agreement on preliminary information sharing and MoU in the field of customs enforcement.

Intensification of mutual collaboration in the field of customs, cooperation with the WCO, especially in the field of AEO, along with the public-private partnership and continuation of the training seminars similar to the one done by the Ministry of Customs and Trade of Turkey in the field of Risk Analysis on 4-5 October 2016 in Ankara was encouraged by the delegates.

The Seventh Meeting of the Heads of Customs Administration is planned to be held in 2018 in Kazakhstan.

Project Directors Farid Damirli and Yedil Myrzakhanov and Research Expert Dastan Almen accompanied Deputy Secretary General Kocaman during the meeting.
