Statement of the Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States on anti-terror measures by Azerbaijan
The Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States expresses serious concern regarding the Armenian provocations against Azerbaijan’s sovereignty and territorial integrity, condemns the recent terror acts committed against Azerbaijan in its Garabagh economic zone, including the latest provocation which resulted in killing of civilians and military servicemen of Azerbaijan in landmine explosions.
It is emphasized that the illegal presence of remnants of Armenia’s armed forces, implantation of landmines, trafficking of natural resources, arms, military equipment, and rotation of personnel in the territory of Azerbaijan have seriously undermined the process of normalization of relations between Azerbaijan and Armenia, as well as reaching durable peace and stability in the region.
In this context, the Secretary General expresses his strong belief that the anti-terror measures conducted by Azerbaijan on 19-20 September 2023, will ensure reintegration of the Armenian residents living in the Garabagh economic zone of Azerbaijan into the constitutional system of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
The Secretary General expresses its deep condolences to the families of the martyrs, the brotherly people and Government of Azerbaijan over the loss of lives as a result of the provocation which triggered the anti-terror measures.
