The 7th International Forum on the Role of Customs Administrations in Promoting and Facilitating Trade among Silk Road Countries started on 23 November 2016 in Aktau.
Delegations from the Member States, as well as from Georgia and China also took part in the Forum. Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Abzal Saparbekuly delivered an opening statement.
In his speech, he underlined the importance of cooperation in the field of customs and called on a closer cooperation between the states in resolving various issues. He also highlighted the achievements implemented by the Member States and emphasized the use of Central Transport Corridor as the new Modern Silk Road.
The day continued with various sessions where customs officials delivered their presentations. Project Director of the Turkic Council Farid Damirli presented information about the cooperation in the field of customs under the Turkic Council.
