Hosted by the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Turkey, the 9th Meeting of the Turkic Council Working Group on Economic Cooperation, was held on 29 November 2017 in Istanbul with the participation of the representatives of the Member States’ Ministries of Economy and the relevant institutions.
The meeting was started with the opening remarks of the moderator, Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Dr. Ömer Kocaman and of Mr. Ahmet Yavuzhan Erdem, Head of Department of the Ministry of Economy of Turkey.
Means for improving investment climate and for enhancing the international trade complementarıties among Member States, further cooperation on special economic zones, free economic zones and free zones, Turkic Business Portal, support for small and medium-sized enterprises, economic statistics, exchange of expertise and information were among the topics discussed at the meeting.
Deputy Secretary General Dr. Kocaman was accompanied by Project Directors Jeyhun Shahverdiyev, Assan Mazhitov, Zhyldyz Uzakova, Özge Pan and Research Expert Dastan Almen during the meeting.
The outcomes of the 9th Working Group Meeting will be submitted to the Ministers in charge of Economy of the Turkic Council Member States at the 7th Ministerial Meeting that will be held with the participation of H.E. Sunatulla Bekenov, First Deputy Minister of Economy of Uzbekistan on 30 November 2017 in Istanbul.
