The Ambassador of Afghanistan paid a visit to the Turkic Council Secretary General 
Secretary General of the Turkic Council H.E. Baghdad Amreyev received the Ambassador of the Islamic Republic of Afghanistan to Ankara H.E. Amir Mohammad Ramin in Istanbul on 26 February 2021.
Afghan Ambassador expressed his thanks to the Secretary General for the meeting and briefed him on the recent development of political, economic, and trade relations of Afghanistan with the Member States. Reaffirming a huge existing cooperation potential among the countries in various fields, Ambassador expressed the interest of Afghanistan in active engagement in the cooperation activities of the Organization.
Ambassador also underlined the great achievements made by the Turkic Council during the past years and wished the Secretariat continuation of its successful endeavors.
Secretary General Amreyev welcomed and highly appreciated the Ambassador of his visit to the Secretariat. B. Amreyev briefed on the organizational structure, main goals, initiatives, and ongoing activities, as well as shared with the prospects of closer cooperation and deeper integration that the Organization aims at establishing among its members in the region and beyond.
Secretary General and Ambassador discussed the ways to develop multilateral cooperation between the Turkic Council and Afghanistan and agreed on taking joint steps towards enhancing the relations in the upcoming period.
Parties also exchanged views on regional and international affairs of mutual interest.
