The Chairman of Council of Elders of the Organization of Turkic States (OTS) H.E. Binali Yıldırım visited the OTS Secretary General H.E. Ambassador Kubanychbek Omuraliev in the premises of the OTS Secretariat in Istanbul on 13 March 2023.
Thanking the Chairman of OTS Council of Elders Mr. Yıldırım for his visit to the Secretariat, the Secretary General stated that the leaders of OTS countries will convene at the Extraordinary Summit in Ankara on 16 March 2023 to show solidarity with Republic of Turkiye after Kahramanmaras centered earthquakes that caused massive loss of life and destruction.
Stating that the Member and Observer States of the Organization of Turkic States mobilized immediately to help Türkiye right after the earthquake, the Secretary General drew attention to the moral support and solidarity shown by the Turkic peoples, as well as the humanitarian aid and rescue support of the brotherly Turkic States.
The Cahirman of OTS Council of Elders Mr. Yıldırım congratulated Secretary General Omuraliev for Secretariat’s contribution to the efforts of the OTS relief efforts and wished him success at the upcoming Summit in Ankara.
Commending the immediate search and rescue and relief support from OTS countries after the massive earthquakes, ‘After this great disaster, we saw our brothers, volunteers and search and rescue teams from the Organization of Turkic States countries with us. They rushed to help the survivors. The importance of our Organization was revealed once again after the earthquake disaster.’ Mr. Yıldırım stated.
Mr. Yıldırım reminded that the OTS Council of Elders would continue to support the development of the Organization, and to help increase the relations not only among the OTS countries, but also between the Turkic peoples.
