The Delegation of the Organization of Turkic States took part at the Opening Ceremony of the 2nd Turkic Universiade held on 6 November 2023 in Turkistan, Republic of Kazakhstan.
During his speech, Mr. Sadi Jafarov, the Deputy Secretary General of the Organization of Turkic States highlighted the importance of the cooperation among the Turkic states in the field of youth and sports, and noted that the II Turkic Universiade is the first event hosted by Kazakhstan at the beginning of its chairmanship in the year ahead.
The 2nd Turkic Universiade brought together approximately 500 university athletes and coaches from the Member and Observer States of the OTS. During the tournament that will last until 10 November 2023, the athletes will compete in judo, wrestling, futsal, volleyball, table tennis, chess etc.
