The Delegation of the Turkic Council and Turkic University Union headed by the Deputy Secretary General Dr. Ömer Kocaman participated at the opening ceremony of the Second EURIE International Eurasia Higher Education Summit held on 22 March 2017 in İstanbul.
The President of the EURIE Dr. Mustafa Aydın gave a welcome speech emphasizing the importance of the Second Summit and the activities of the EURIE. The ceremony continued by the speeches of President of DEIK Ömer Cihad Vardan, Deputy Chairman of Council of Higher Education of Turkey Prof. Dr. Hasan Mandal, Minister of Education of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Ozdemir Berova, Minister of National Education of Turkey İsmet Yılmaz, Former Minister of Culture, Arts and Heritage of Qatar Hamad Bin Abdulaziz Al-Kawari underlining the important role of the education in the modern life and work done in the education field in their countries.
More than 2000 representatives of the prestigious universities, academicians and higher education attended the Summit.
At the second half of the Summit the opening of the exhibition was held, where Turkic Council Turkic University Union was also represented by its stand which provided by the EURIE. The members of the Union, namely Azerbaijan University of Architecture and Construction, Ahmet Yesevi International Turkish-Kazakh University, Kyrgyz-Turkish Manas University and International University of Kyrgyzstan advertise/introduce and promote themselves and establish relations with other universities at the exhibition.
About 200 universities of the world opened their stands at the exhibition. The exhibition will be lasted till 24 March 2017.
