Deputy Secretary General of the Turkic Council Abzal Saparbekuly attended 18th Eurasian Economic Summit organized by the Marmara Group Association on 8 April 2015 in Istanbul. Deputy Secretary General, who delivered a speech at the Summit, shared his ideas about the prospective trade relations among the Turkic Council Member States in the framework of the Silk Road and the role of the Council in developing regional cooperation. 

Mr. Saparbekuly also gave information to the attendees about Turkic Council’s activities in the field of transport and customs, as well as the mutual investment project among the Member States. In this context, the Council works to set up the relations among the Sister Ports (Aktau, Baku, Samsun and Turkmenbashi), works on the "International Combined Cargo Transportation" agreement among the Member States and carries out activities trying to solve problems related to transportation via the Caspian Sea.
